The long-awaited Kiwanis Youth Camp 2017 has taken place in Malbun (Liechtenstein). The multinational camp united the youngsters from many countries, in particular, Hungary, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Romania, Germany, Switzerland, Russia, Eritrea, Denmark (the Faroe Islands), Turkey, and, finally, Ukraine.
Our country was represented by five students from Institute of International Relations of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv and Kyiv National University of Culture and Arts.
The activity in the camp was intellectual, as well as physical. The former included many interactive parts, in particular:
lections and workshops from the professor of the University of St. Gallen (HSG) Dr. Andreas Löhmer, national presentations from the participants, development of the future Kiwanis youth camp logotypes, involvement of the young leaders in the organization of the charitable projects, and design of the symbol of the organization – the Kiwanis Dolls.
In its turn, the physical activities included ascending the mountain of Augstenberg (2,359 metres), mountaineering in the rope park near Vaduz, self-defense master class, and many, many others.
In the end, the participants were honoured with the certificates and gifts. The representatives of the Ukrainian team were singled out for being active and creative. They were also invited to the next Kiwanis Youth Camp 2018, which will take place in Austria.
The International Association “United by Ukraine” expresses gratitude to the International organization “Kiwanis International – European Federation” and the President of the Kiwanis District Switzerland-Liechtenstein Ilonka-Christina Löhmer for the material support and invitation to participate in the Kiwanis Youth Camp 2017.
